Whispers of Rain
I love rain, strange, I know. I can see myself in it, sometimes raining so calmly, and other times pouring so heavily. It’s as if it has feelings too. In one instant, it’s serene, and in another, it’s fierce and furious. I can relate, no words need to be spoken. I can simply feel its emotions, its ups and downs.

Let go
I joined Vocal only a few months ago, so I don’t really have a “past year”. But – in exploring different online writer communities I quickly came to realize that there are platforms for any creative writing I want to do – and a plethora of readers and writers with whom I can interact to help me improve and refine my writing. That it took me until middle age to realize this and find my (online) tribe is entirely my fault! But Vocal in particular suits me. I like the way communities are grouped into genres and that I can move freely from one to another depending on where I want my writing to be seen. I love that I can comment on published work -and especially that others can comment on my own. We don’t grow unless we push past our comfort zone and it is high time I embrace and act on my desire to be a “WRITER”.

The Trinity of My Heart, My Hands, and My Words . Runner-Up in #200 Challenge.
At some point in my life, for a week or two, I stayed at the house of a retired couple who owned two big dogs. One evening, their young grandchildren came over for dinner. Minutes after the children’s arrival, the whole house was filled with laughter and excitement. Apart from chasing around and throwing jokes at each other, the children fearlessly surrounded the two dogs, which were taller than them, touching every inch of the dogs’ fur. The grandmother looked at me and said, “See, they’re not even scared!”

Week One of Write A Story Every Day in 2024
So, I have written seven stories, one for every day of 2024 so far. The idea is to write one EVERY day in 2024 - only 366 words, no more, and this was proposed by fellow Vocalist, L.C. Schäfer. You can check her idea out here:

My Writing in 2024
Challenge: Write about your aspirations, as a creator, on Vocal in 2024. The same New Years resolution board is up in my office from 2022. I just added 2023 to it and this year I was thinking of putting a piece of blue duck tape over those dates, writing 2024, and changing just a few things. I write for challenges never expecting to win or place.
