SCARY MOTHER

Say It Plainly

She once asked me to kill her

Instead of saying sorry,

Who, in their right mind, would do that?

Leaving me alone in the dark forest

Of disillusionment and nightmares.

She wanted only to escape

From me, my concerns, my aspirations,

To pursue her own dream: fixing up the house.

That’s it, pure and simple.

A venture with no prospects.

A busy bee, working tirelessly

After her husband had neglected it.

Everyone else has to back it up.

She never considered the circumstances.

Defying my surroundings,

Disregarding logic,

Squandering opportunities

For someone like me,

Fighting to survive

Every single day

To thrive and not to yield

Unsatisfactory results constantly .

It takes a mother's instinct to feel it ,

It takes years to develop it .

Having two daughters won't help

If she still doesn't accept me

And my life along with it.
