I Saw the Sunset in Your Eyes

From that moment I knew we belonged together

I Saw the Sunset in Your Eyes

I saw the sunset in your eyes,

not fading, not leaving, but burning slow,

a quiet fire across the soul,

where silence spoke in shades of gold,

and every glance became a horizon,

that I was never ready to lose.

The sky did not end that evening,

it folded itself inside your gaze,

layer upon layer of glowing truth,

where warmth and sorrow walked together,

and I stood there, breath caught tight,

as if the world had chosen you to stay.

Your eyes held oceans without sound,

tides that pulled at something deep in me,

soft, yet fierce as any storm,

and I wondered how such calm could ache,

how beauty could carry such weight,

without ever asking to be understood.

I traced the light that lingered there,

a quiet echo of something gone,

yet still alive in every flicker,

like day refusing to fully die,

like hope that lingers past its time,

just to be seen one moment more.

There was no ending in that glow,

only a pause between heartbeats,

a stillness that felt almost sacred,

where time forgot its cruel demand,

and everything that ever mattered,

rested gently behind your stare.

I did not speak, I could not move,

for words would only break the spell,

and what I saw was not just beauty,

it was truth laid bare in fire,

a story written without sound,

yet louder than anything I knew.

So I stayed within that moment,

held between dusk and something deeper,

where love does not need to be named,

and loss does not need to be feared,

because in your eyes I understood,

some things are meant to burn forever.

And even now, when night has come,

and shadows claim the open sky,

I close my eyes and find you there,

that endless light, that quiet flame,

the sunset that refused to fade,

still living softly inside my soul.
