Mental Health

But Who's Concern

By J.W. BairdPublished about 13 hours ago 1 min read

My mental health is one of my main concerns.

We walk through life but don't give a higher priority to the things that shapes one's world.

A lot of people put other people's needs before there own.

It is not until you have abandoned your own needs time and time again that you may finally learn.

One's mental health is just as important as the other major aspects in one's life.

We need to address our physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental needs in order to avoid a life full of misery and strife.

We need to address the stigma and create a space of understanding.

A space to help treat our nation's people and our future generations.

Mental health is a serious issue not really discussed or taught in educational institutions.

But how can we expect individuals to learn about a topic many avoid, or try to keep hidden.

Mental health if it's not yours, or hers, or his...than who's concern really is it...

If we want to truly help others, curb violence, and build a community of love and hope for all.

Then we need to address mental health issues, or continue to sit by and watch others and our loved ones try to live through their struggles all because we did not answer the call!

Who Am I?

I keep asking myself. I spent half of my life as a single mother. Pushing myself to be the strong independent individual that I have always been. My kids have grown and my life seems turned upside down.

I now search to find myself!
