I'll Be Back
A Tale Inspired By A Picture By Harry Clarke

Introduction
This is inspired by this amazing picture by Harry Clarke that I found on The Enchanted Booklet here:
The music is "I'll Be Back" by Arnie and the Terminators
I'll Be Back
Faust was an easy touch for any conman, and Mephistopheles had promised him the ride of his life if he gave him his soul when he finished the ride.
Faust didn't even consider what losing his soul would mean. The only thing that mattered was the thrill of the ride on a fast horse, and though he tried to keep up with Mephistopheles, the devil soon left him behind.
"Wait for me", shouted Faust as he saw Mephistopheles disappearing into the distance, but Faust carried on, and the horse showed no signs of tiring.
They were going to ride all around the world, over land and water.
This really was the ride of Faust's life, and it was worth the price of his soul.
What was a soul anyway? He had never had a need to call on it, so losing it would not be a problem, would it?
Behind him, he heard the galloping hooves of the horse Mephistopheles was riding, and the devil shouted,"I said I'd be back, and now I have come to take your soul".
With that, Mephistopheles decapitated Faust, reached into his body to remove a glowing light which, apparently, was Faust's soul.
