Kakheti Wine Tour. Top Story - October 2025.
Any Georgian will proudly tell you that Georgia is the birthplace of wine. Our tour guide told us about the archeological evidence that the ancient way of making wine in a large clay pot capable of holding hundreds and even thousands of liters of wine called qvevri [pronounced kwevri] goes back at least 8,000 years. However, the recently found earliest qvevri are now estimated to be around 11,000 years.

My American Football Story
I am so happy today because a good friend sent me my very first long-read in English I'd written back in October 1996. I thought I lost it forever. It was published in the K-State alumni magazine. Reading it back now I keep thinking that it was idealistic, naive and in some places overly judgemental, but I was much younger and categorical then. Sorry if it comes across insensitive by today's standards.

Movies in English in Tbilisi
Those of you who read me here know that am a big movie goer. I love watching movies on the big screen, especially if I have someone to go with because it's such a wonderful shared experience. I raised my son to be a movie buff as well to the extent that he completed his Bachelor's in Media and Entertainment.

Ditched and Re-Boxed
In the middle of the night, Brad suddenly woke up from what seemed like a push to his chest. He bolted in the bed and looked around. There was no one in the room, except Emily, peacefully sleeping on her side. He got out of the bed carefully, trying not to wake Emily up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. In the hallway, he heard some noise coming from the hunting room. He went there and saw the door’s padlock broken and the door ajar with dim light coming through from inside.
