Violet Petals, Unsaid
A study in restraint and what it holds

Not everything that is gentle is light.
๐ธ๐ค๐ฟ๐ค๐ธ
Thin violet bracts
Sturdy small flower
Purple lining its defense
Beckons with veiled threat.ย
๐ธ๐ค๐ฟ๐ค๐ธ
Purple bracts spill
Over the fence
In the sunlight.
Someone reaches to pull
The thorns they shelter.
๐ธ๐ค๐ฟ๐ค๐ธ
Their owner comes to the door.
Composed reservation.
Opens it, slightly ajar.
Ready to closeย
At notice.
๐ธ๐ค๐ฟ๐ค๐ธ
No one comes
Or crosses the fence.
Single petals fall
Only light shows purple sheen.
Small white flower, unseen.ย
๐ธ๐ค๐ฟ๐ค๐ธ
It's bruised by the heat.
But guarded.
Safe
But only.
