Current Status
Wild by Choice
5th avenue
in boxing gloves
what's tied to you
they want to have
two bags from saks
red bottom shoes
random attacks
mask and tattoo
a faceless shape
in hooded gear
your first mistake
pod in your ear
your head turned down
cell phone in hand
knocked to the ground
gunpoint demands
helpless and alone
though in a crowd
but what chills to the bone
is - no one raised a brow
walked on by
can't be bothered
walked on by
not involved
not their circus
or monkey
humanity is dissolved
with no concern for another
nothing lost, nothing gained
not a tear or a shudder
self preservation displayed
no extra seats on the subway
no one to hold open a door
rage explodes on the freeway
with weapons hid on the floor
we push and shove in the aisleways
so damn important to be first
sensitivity has gone sideways
pictures of us - at our worst
what will it take to rekindle
and remember, love is the prize
find the soul and the twinkle
in another one's eyes
So lend a hand
and raise your voice
for when it comes to man (kind)
we are wild by choice
