Closer Than Distance
A Ghazal of Invisible Nearness and Endless Circles
By heasb001Published about 11 hours ago • 1 min read

This ghazal explores an intimate paradox: the closer something feels, the less tangible it becomes. The beloved is never fully seen, yet deeply experienced—like a fragrance in the air. It’s a meditation on emotional closeness that transcends physical distance.
I never saw you, yet I feel you near,
How far you are—and still, so clear.
Like the scent of a flower carried by air,
I gathered you silently from everywhere.
In every breath, you flow through me,
How can I speak when you are all I see?
No path away, no escape from your name,
Within love’s circle, I spin without aim.
