The Search For Truth

How Far Will You Go To Obtain It?

I have always been fascinated with the truth.

Getting to the bottom of things...

Understanding what happened for what reasons...

Looking at where things went wrong...

Seeking what could have been for things to end differently.

I have never been satisfied with just being told something...

I had to understand it.

As deeply as I could.

But there is something that I have learned over the years...

Most people do not care for the truth.

Not really.

They will always "say" they care about the truth, of course...

But constantly, I find people completely missing the truth...

Sometimes pathetically.

I'm not trying to say that I know everything...

Far from it...

I know how much I do not know, which is why I seek.

Yet...

When I say that some people pathetically miss it...

What I mean is that they do not even do a tiny bit of research to discover the truth.

Not even ten minutes of real research.

They hear something...

From somewhere...

And they take it as absolute truth...

Without ever actually looking.

They do not look at any research...

They do not look at any history...

They do not look at any holy texts...

They do not look at any laws...

They do not look at any real results that have been obtained or failed to attain...

They really are not looking for the truth.

Now...

In some respects, I do understand why it happens.

Often, people "believe" that there is a person of authority who "should" be telling them the truth...

A teacher...

A doctor...

A politician...

A holy person...

A reporter...

And so many other people who "should" be giving the truth within their respective fields and industries...

Yet...

If you actually look more closely...

So often, you do not actually find truth.

You find people who have played a game of telephone for decades...

People who failed to look closely at the data...

Individuals who put their own agendas ahead of everything else...

And in some cases...

Purposeful lies, deception, and propaganda.

So much information that exists...

So little truth.

How far will you go to obtain the truth?

Most people will only put in the absolute bare minimum required...

And they will fail to get the truth.

They end up being used...

And abused...

By organizations and individuals that utilize this fact against them.

That is the price that is paid for the choice not to obtain the truth.

How far will you go to obtain the truth?

Will you spend minutes?

Hours?

Days?

Weeks?

Months?

Years?

Decades?

Just to obtain the truth of things?

Sometimes, the truth is so far hidden...

Or so complex...

That it takes a serious amount of time and dedication to get to the truth.

In some cases...

People spend their entire lives seeking the truth...

Unsuccessfully.

Not because the truth is not obtainable...

But because they have gotten trapped within systems and ways of thinking...

That directly opposes where the truth can be found.

See...

It is not just about looking...

It is about questioning...

It is about finding new and different perspectives...

It is about doubting...

It is about wondering...

It is all of these things and more.

The path to the truth is not always easy...

It is not always laid out...

It may have dangers and opposition...

But if we seek the truth...

Fully...

It can be discovered.
