part one
  • Hey my name is hailey i was born in michigan to my mother and father and my 3 siblings. when i was younger life was really hard for my mom we were alway moving homes and going throughout family friends homes, we had nobody to help us at the time.
  • When i was one my dad left my mom all alone to go live all sround the state doing whatever he wanted, we had no support from him to begin with so it wasnt anything drastically different but my mom was alone, i remember her telling me about a time she has to feed us canned beans because thats all we were able to eat, my mom was left in indiana with her 4 kids and all alone on the streets with no way home.
  • Being poor the way we were took a big toll on all of her kids especially me. i always struggled with focusing and being able to communicate with others. at the age of 12 i was diagnosed with adhd and reactive attachment disorder. i have been in and out of foster care since the age of 7 .
  • My first foster home i ever went to was one of my aunts me and my sister were placed in the home i stayed there for about a month i had my 8th birthday there but a couple weeks after my burthday they decided to move me to a different foster home without my sister.
  • yYes, they kept my sister for a month or so then she was put back into the home with my dad while i proceded to be in foster care for two years,. i was then realased to my dad and that lasted for about a month they one day i ask my dad if i could visit my foster family and he told me no but i asked over and over and a day or two later he came to me and said that i could call them to come pick me up , so i did.
  • An hour later my ex foster mom was there to pick me up to take me to her house. i remember tbeing there for the weekend and by the end of the weekend i asked wheb i am going to go home and they said that i wouldnt be. i didnt think about it too much since i only thought it was because they wanted to keep me but i never knew until i was out of foster care that i realized that he took my brother and my sister to florida with him.
  • I didnt see my siblings for 3 years before they decided that enough was enough and they werent going to deal with my dad minupulsting them into liking him and wanting to have him in there life.
  • iI feel sorry for my dad so i still miss him but it hard to forgive someone who caused most of your problems i will never understand why he did that to me and why i wasnt good enough to be with my siblings i felt left out like i was an outcast..
  • For a while i stopped calling him my dad because he came and let me live with him then he has these emotional breakdowns and just gives me back to my mom and leaves the state. its heartbreaking to see him struggling with his mental health...
  • I am a mom now to a 19 month old boy so i understand where the frustration comes from but i would never leave him like how my dad left me because i know how much it can affect their life and there future relationships with people.
  • Its hard for me to trust people knowing that they can tell you they love you but say they are leaving you in the same sentence.
