This bush is a Hibiscus, and it is called Summerific Edge of Night. I fell in love with it, when I first saw it at the garden center, and I bought it home with me. The whole neighborhood admired it, while I had it sitting in my front yard, in the place of honor, for all to admire that walked by, walking their dogs, or just out strolling on a cool Summer's evening.

Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants known for their vibrant trumpet-shaped blooms. They are popular in gardens and landscapes, with some varieties being hardy perennials and others thriving as tropical plants.

This plant is a perennial, and one of my favorites, and I like to name my favorite plants, so I will call her Leilani. Leilani is Hawaiian in origin, and it means Heavenly flower.

I might add, that Leilani is my pride and joy. I like her even more than my red rose bush that sits in my backyard now. I think it is a shame that the neighborhood can't benefit from Leilani, and I just might buy one for the 2026 season, and plant it in the front yard. I feel kind of selfish, not sharing the beauty of it with the neighborhood, and keeping it hidden in the backyard.

I will recify that if I can find one at the garden center. It will be interesting to see what varieties they have in this perennial, and just what color flowers they have. I would like to find a different color flower, and again I will share it with the entire neighborhood, when I plant it in my front yard.

Leilani was part of my happiness garden in 2024, and then again in 2025, and it is coming up again in 2026.

Happiness Bush For 2025

As I mentioned Leilani was part of my Happiness Garden in 2024, and as the bees did their thing, (and I am happy they did, for without pollination, we would have very little food), we have a different color flower, on the bush in 2025. Look at this photo below, and it keeps getting better and better. It keeps spreading happiness.

I can't wait to see what this special bush has in store for 2026.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Need For A Change

As with the Happiness Garden, I found myself needing a change of pace, a change of perspective. A diversion, from the world of chaos, into the beauty of nature. Nature is everywhere in the world and it is there for anyone of us that wants to grab hold of it.

Why Do Flowers Make You Feel So Good

First and foremost the simple beuty of them. The human mind knows what is beautiful and what is frightening.

The beauty of plant life will enhance your mood and brighten your spirits.

However, this feeling could be as short lived as the bloom fades away, but it has multiple buds such as this one, and it could be brightning your spirits all year long. It beauty as short lived as it may be, will come again next season to brighten your outlook on life.

As this photo indicates, when one flower wilts away, another four will replace it. What beauty that will be.
