I thought I was lazy….. until I realised this

Maybe it’s not laziness… maybe it’s something deeper

For a long time, I thought I was lazy.

I would begin something but never complete it. Plan but don't carry them out. Set goals and then slowly lose motivation.

And every time it happened, I blamed myself.

"Why am I unable to just be consistent?" “Why do I always start and stop?”

I had the impression that something was not right. But recently… I started seeing things differently.

Maybe it’s not laziness.

It could be something more substantial. Occasionally, it's fear. anxiety about failing Fear of not being good enough.

Fear of attempting something and failing. So rather than confronting that fear... You avoid it.

Occasionally, it's overwhelm. You have too many ideas.

Too many things you want to do.

And rather than starting something... In the end, you do nothing. Occasionally, it's discouragement. You have attempted before. You've worked hard. But there were no results for you. Thus, your mind informs you: “What’s the point?”

And slowly…

You stop trying as much as you used to.

However, from the outside, it appears to be laziness. People don’t see the thoughts.

They are unaware of the pressure. They don’t see the internal struggle.

They simply observe your lack of activity. Even you begin to believe it. "Just lazy," I say. But what if you’re not?

What if you're simply worn out? What happens if you feel overwhelmed? What if you’re scared?

That changes everything.

because if you're lazy, it means you don't care. But deep within... You truly care. A lot.

You want to do better.

You want to grow.

You want your life to change.

You simply have difficulty with the procedure. And that’s okay.

The solution is not to insult yourself.

The solution is to understand yourself.

Instead of saying:

"I'm lazy" Try asking:

“What’s really stopping me?”

It might dawn on you that it is not at all laziness. It might be fear.

It could be stress. It might be burnout.

And once you understand that…

You can start fixing the real problem.

Slowly.

Gently.

Without pressure.

You don't have to understand everything. You just need to take one small step.

And then another.

Also, over time... Progress will result from those small steps. Therefore, you might not be lazy. Perhaps you are merely human. And that’s something you can work with

Sometimes, what we call laziness is actually mental exhaustion.

You’ve been thinking too much.

Worrying too much.

Trying to figure everything out at once.

And your mind just gets tired.

It’s not that you don’t want to do anything.

It’s that you don’t know where to start anymore.

Everything feels important, and at the same time, overwhelming.

There are moments you sit down to work…

And you just stare.

Not because you don’t care.

But because your mind is already full.

And instead of pushing yourself harder, maybe what you need is a pause.

Not quitting.

Just breathing.

Because sometimes, the real problem is not laziness.

It’s pressure.

The pressure to get it right.

The pressure to succeed fast.

The pressure to not waste time.

And when that pressure becomes too much…

You shut down.

That’s not failure.

That’s your mind trying to protect you.

So instead of being hard on yourself, try something different.

Be patient.

Give yourself space to grow without rushing.

You don’t have to have everything figured out today.

You don’t have to be perfect.

You just need to keep showing up, even in small ways.

Because small steps still move you forward.

Even when it feels like nothing is happening

And maybe the truth is…

You don’t need to rush your journey.

Not everything has to happen immediately.

Not everything has to make sense right now.

Sometimes, life takes time to align.

Sometimes, your effort is planting seeds you cannot see yet.

And that can be frustrating.

Because you want results.

You want proof that what you’re doing is working.

But growth doesn’t always give you instant feedback.

Sometimes, it stays quiet.

Sometimes, it hides.

Until one day…

Everything starts to make sense.

You look back and realize that all those moments you thought were wasted…

Were actually shaping you.

Preparing you.

Building you into someone stronger.

So instead of being hard on yourself…

Trust the process.

Even if it feels slow. Even if it feels uncertain.

Even if it feels uncertain
